I'm having trouble sourcing the rack and gear for lifting the table on our school 20' Rockwell Delta drill press.
Model 70-6x0
serial no. 1648288
Rack part number is: 1202149 and gear is 1202148
Delta says they are not made anymore.
They list the machine as: 70-612 built October of 1975.
The linear gear is a straight cut gear instead of made for a worm gear - so my thoughts are it should be 'easy' to source.
It's approx 36' long and 0.75' wide.
I do not know the correct numbers for the gear pitch and pressure angle as the rack gear is missing (must have been thrown out years ago before I started).
(I did see an online reference to a 15 degree angle gear)
But it shouldn't matter too much as long as I get the same round gear to fit the linear gear.
If needed, I could disassemble the head again and get the gear information off the head lifting rack and gear.
Should be close enough to work with I'd guess?
